01 — Biography

Press biography

DJ Tailor is a British DJ, producer and sound engineer working across house, disco, funk and soul. Based between London and Essex, he plays weddings, brand launches, private events and festivals, and is available internationally.

His approach comes out of a parallel career in live audio and video production, which has included running sound for events at Spotify's London headquarters. That background means he arrives knowing how a venue's system will behave, where it will fall short, and how each space gets covered across a full day. At weddings this extends to ceremony cueing and live microphone mixing for vows and speeches, work usually split between two suppliers.

He also writes house music on a standalone Maschine setup, and that ear for arrangement carries into how he builds a set: mixed live and read off the floor rather than run from a fixed list. He founded DJ Club CIC, delivering DJ and music technology workshops for young people.

02 — Approach

The bit that goes wrong is rarely the music

You have probably been to an event where nobody could hear the speeches, or where the music cut out at the wrong moment. That is almost never someone playing badly. It is a planning gap, and catching those is where we add the most.

So before the day we want to see what the venue is actually providing. Small speakers that are fine indoors and thin outside. One speaker where two are needed. Microphones with nobody assigned to them. A system scheduled to move rooms at the moment you need it where it is. None of it is anybody's fault, it just needs finding in advance.

On music, send us five records you love and two you would rather never hear. That tells us more than a hundred song playlist and leaves room to read the floor.
